Today, the University of Virginia's Equity Center, Madison House, and Youth-Nex launch a new website with resources and tools for local families, educators, community members, and UVA faculty and staff to get and give education-related support. The Cville Education Equity website is now live and available to the public at http://cvilleeducationequity.com/.
This new website resource provides families with information about virtual learning, after-school care, mental health resources and more. Teachers and community organizations can share resources for families, find groups of volunteers/mentors to work with and more. Volunteers can find local opportunities to give time or funds. The Cville Education Equity website has dedicated pages for each audience and is continuing to evolve.
With school starting this week, many within our Charlottesville greater community are still scrambling to compile learning resources, find successful ways to engage students after school, connect with a tutor or mentor, and find needed support. The Cville Education Equity website covers a wide array of needs including a dedicated “Get Food” page and an opportunity to sign up for social distanced mentoring through UVA Madison House.
